Why don’t I eat what I already have?
Do I think I will eat it soon?

REDUCED FOOD SHOPPING 101

Make sure no old

food is left behind

Before heading off to the stores, take a closer look at

these places, to see if any food is still hiding:

Planning meals even when

you don’t know what you will buy

Buying reduced food works on a “first come first serve” basis - you’ll know what is available

only when you get to the shop.

Then what to do for

a fruitful hunt?

(As in “productive”, and as in “a lot of fruits” if you prefer).

Only buy the food with an expiration date that exceeds the day you plan to consume it.

So, for Pete’s sake, don’t gobble up something without:

Not-so-new flash, cheese, curated meat, sandwiches, or fruits can go off before the written date.

Look at it!

If you don’t think those weird spots or colors are normal,

do not eat it.

Sniff it!

If you can’t stand the smell of it,

do not eat it.

Touch it!

If you don’t even want to touch it,

do not eat it.

Bite it!

(not on raw meat please)

If you can’t force yourself to bite off even a small piece,

do not eat it.
